How should I select my pool contractor?
Visit your local pool builder’s showroom and speak with a sales associate. Ask for references of completed projects.
How much can I expect to pay for a pool?
There are many factors other than size that will determine the cost of a pool such as, site conditions and additional features.
What options are available to finance my pool?
We find that most new pool owners finance their project with a home improvement or home equity loan provided by any bank or credit union. Check with your bank or credit union for details.
Do I need to obtain a permit?
Yes. For safety issues each town requires that the homeowner file for a pool permit. Check with your building department for specifics.
How much will it cost to maintain my new pool?
Each pool will vary due to size, chemicals used, usage of pool & weather conditions. This question may be discussed in further detail with your sales professional.
Can I maintain my pool myself?
Upon completion of your new pool, we will give you instructions on how to use your equipment and maintain your new pool. If you do not have the time or prefer to have someone else to maintain your pool you can contact our service department where we will provide you with all of the necessary services to maintain and care for your pool.
ABOVE GROUND POOL FAQ’S
What shape above ground pool is best for my backyard?
This will depend on the size of your backyard and the set backs restricted by your town. We can provide you with an onsite consultation to help you make the best decision for whether a Round or Oval pool would be best. You may also contact your local building department for more information.
What type of above ground swimming pool is stronger? Round or Oval?
Here at Royal Pools and Spas our above ground pools have a unique installation and with the materials used today there is no great difference in strength between the two.
Which pool will give me more swimming area? Round or Oval?
Generally rule of thumb is that a round above ground pool with the same length of an oval above ground pool will provide you with more swimming area. You can figure this out on your own by calculating the surface area of the pool or asking your sales associate to do so for you.
Which filter should I chose Sand or Diatomaceous Earth?
While both options will keep your pool looking crystal clear and clean there are differences between the two. This decision can be made with help from your sales person after understanding a little more about your installation.
Can I bury an Above Ground Pool in the ground?
Burying an Above Ground Pool could result in voiding of the warranty from the manufacturer and could cause potential safety hazards. If this is the type of installation you are looking for we carry a design that will fit your needs.
How long will my Above Ground Pool last?
Although the outside elements will play a part in the life of your pool there is no way to put an exact time frame on the life of an Above Ground Pool. With help from us here at Royal Pools and Spas, we suggest that by maintaining your water and pool structure you should get many years of enjoyment from your Above Ground Pool.

What shape In ground pool is best for my backyard?
The shapes and sizes for In ground pools are unlimited. Here at Royal Pools and Spas we can help you make this decision. We provide onsite consultations where we can help you measure out and design the size and shape pool you are looking for.
What material is best for an In ground pool?
At Royal Pools and Spas we install a variety of In Ground pools from Steel Wall with a vinyl liner to Gunite requiring no liner, our signature Royal Crete design with a vinyl liner & Fiberglass requiring no liner. We feel that there is a perfect construction process for each customer’s needs and wants.
How long will it take to install an In Ground Pool?
Generally In Ground pools take approximately 4-6 weeks for installation. Once you have obtained your permit from the town the process can begin. You must keep in mind also that the weather will play a role in the installation process.
What type of decking can be put around an In Ground Pool?
There are many different options for decking around an In Ground pool. Some popular options are Pavers, Stamped Concrete, Flagstone and much more.
Can you convert an In Ground Pool from Chlorine or Non Chlorine to a Salt Water System?
Yes. You will need to purchase and install a salt generator. Royal Pools and Spas is able to help you fit the perfect Salt System for your needs and complete the installation through our service department. For best results you will then bring a water sample to one of our labs for a complete analysis. Our lab technicians will then provide you with detailed instructions for your conversion.
